The story is focused with the lives of the ladies : Yoo Min, Hye Ji, Soo Jin and Min Hee. Follow the ups and downs of being a 24 years old women in the city of Seoul.
Yoo-Min (Yoon Eun-Hye) still doesn’t know what she wants to do. Somehow she gets a job as an assistant to a top writer. Yoo-Min wasn’t even sure if she would take the job as an assistant, but after seeing an expensive black mini dress at luxury department store she buys the dress with the writer’s credit card and in the process accepts the job. Yoo-Min’s job turns out to be more of a babysitter for the writer’s twin sons. By chance, Yoo-Min runs into high-school acquaintance Young-Mi who also works as a writer’s assistant.

Comments and Suggestions:
A Black Dress can fit into any occasions. That’s how versatile it is as a fashion statement. It’s a must-have in a women’s wardrobe. The black dress will vary on how a woman will style it her way. Wait! This is not a fashion or modelling review. Let’s talk about the movie now.
Here’s a story about a coming of age women. They said in other blogs that it’s like a Korean version of sex and the city. Ok, It’s a CHICK FLICK. Girls just wanna have fun!~ I wanted to watch this film since I learned it’s a Yoon Eun Hye movie. She’s my favorite Korean actress. I am watching most of her dramas and movies. Haha! Some people noticed that I look like her in person. Then again, I am late to watch this because it’s a 2011 movie. Oh gosh! But it’s okay.
It started when the 4 girlfriends graduated college. They are all Theatre Arts major. They celebrated by partying hard on clubs which is leaded by the ever social butterfly Hye Ji. After 10 months, they’ve gone nowhere. Pressure on getting a full-time job took place already. These four ladies have different personalities. It makes the story interesting on looking on each of their real life situation after graduating. In my case, it’s real hard to find a job after graduating college. In the Philippines, there’s no senior high school (at my time) so you will graduate college at a young age of 20. You’ll be too young to apply for a full-time job. Some of my classmates manage to get. In my experience, I had a difficult time getting one. I can relate with these ladies. In Korea, the expected age of graduating college is 24. They are playing the role of 24-year old ladies of Seoul. I am same age with them. Haha! Being the youngest employee is what I can relate with Yoo Min. Actually, she’s my favorite because I am YEH biased. To think that she managed to become an assistant writer to a top writer is a lucky thing.
Still, her character is quite lost especially on her love life. She’s bored with her romantic life so Hye Mi recommended an oppa to her. She doesn’t understand why she’s emotionless/feeling blank with this guy. They even get laid. I was worried for her to know if she’s pregnant or not. This guy doesn’t care really because he still has lot of girls to flirt with as Yoo Min discovered in the end. Sad right?
What caught my attention in Yoo Min’s story here is meeting her former HS classmate in the workplace. They become friends eventually. In the end, she committed suicide. She’s always kind and helpful so Yoo Min doesn’t think that she’s undergoing into such depression or what. That’s shocking!
On the other hand , Hye Ji was scouted by a talent agency making her a new face of a denim brand. The other 3 friends are surprised and a bit a jealous about it. She has scandals but still her friends are there to support her. There was a time that Soo Jin expressed her jealously toward Hye mi. Why you have to get everything so easily? There’s no perfect friendship. Jealously arises more in a girl group of friends than boys. (based on my observation)
Witnessing the conflict Min Hee revealed that her parents divorce and that she was actually sad. She’s not just showing it. She’s the rich girl in the group. She enrolled in English classes (for New York Plan) and has a love interest with her younger guy classmate. Having a relationship with a younger man is not bad though as long as he’s taller than me I am okay with that. Haha!
In the end, they are all in this together to reach for their dreams in the future no matter where they are. They’re connected through friendship. This kind of story is typical in real life. It happens. It is very relevant to the woman of my age and maybe to older women who reminisce their youth days.
Good casting of characters! ~ Each lady has their own beauty and character to show off. Who’s like you? Nevertheless, It was fun to watch! ❤
